23 MAY 2022, KUALA LUMPUR – The MOA agreement between UM and IBG Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. has officially set its sail by embarking on a formal partnership with great interest for a research collaboration. Main objective of this anticipated research project is to study the influence of IBG biofertilizers on soil fertility, growth performance, macronutrients uptake and stress response of oil palm seedlings (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) under glasshouse conditions. Prof. Ling Tau Chuan and Dr. Rosazlin Abdullah, both from Institute of Biological Sciences will stand in as the lead investigators to the project and its further development.


The signing ceremony was held at the Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya (UM) itself. In commemorating the deemed MOA, UM was represented by the Faculty of Science top management which are Prof. Dr. Zulqarnain Mohamed, the respective Dean and Prof. Dr. Azhar Ariffin, the respective Deputy Dean (Research). On the other side, in honour of the IBG Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd delegates,  Dato' Yeat Siaw Ping which is the Group CEO has personally attended the ceremony alongside Yeat Nai Jin, his Personal Assistant (PA) which acts as their signing witness. 


Moving forward with the initiated alliance, the MOA signed between both institutions is poised to propel a new and more substantial engagement initiatives in the near future.
