Introduction

The Master of Science (Environmental Management Technology) programme is established to produce experts in environmental management and technology. Hands-on training enhanced the emplacement of these graduates in relevant organizations and companies more appropriately. The programme includes both theoretical and applied aspects including management tools and basic concepts to advanced technologies. The objectives of this program are to produce graduates who are able to:

  • apply environment-related technologies;
  • understand the need for increasing knowledge and awareness on environmental management;
  • enhance knowledge and awareness, as well as, becoming more sensitive to the needs of the society;
  • have values and positive attitudes in solving problems related to the environment, in addition to a full ethical responsibility and professionalism;
  • communicate effectively (oral and writing), and function as a responsible team-player;
  • deal with problem solving and have analysis skills;
  • manage the information and develop self-knowledge in fostering the attitude to develop and improve their knowledge via lifelong learning.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree with a CGPA not less than 3.00

Bachelor’s degree with a CGPA between 2.70 to 2.99 and fulfil at least one (1) criteria*

Bachelor's degree with a CGPA of 2.50 to 2.69 and fulfil at least one (1) criteria* (for UM graduate applicant) or two (2) criteria* (for non UM graduate applicant)

Bachelor's degree with a CGPA of 2.00 to 2.49 and meets at least one (1) of the following criteria* (for UM graduate applicant) or two (2) criteria* (for non UM graduate applicant)

other qualification approved by Senate from time to time

CRITERIA

  1. graduate of University of Malaya;
  2. Has at least one (1) year of working experience in the related field;
  3. has produced publications in the related fields;
  4. is a scholarship recipient;
  5. a government agency staff;
  6. passed the interview conducted by the Faculty; or
  7. passed the special assessment by the Faculty.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

For international students, candidates are required to have TOEFL results at least 550 or IELTS at least Band 5.5
