Introduction

Department of Physics is one of Malaysia’s leading physics departments, with a history that goes back over 60 years. We are renowned for our work in photonics, condensed matter physics, plasma physics, astrophysics, nuclear and particle physics with a strong emphasis on both research and teaching.
You will be taught by academics who are also active researchers which ensures our courses are kept updated by the latest developments in physics and presents a unique opportunity to be closely involved at the forefront of cutting-edge physics research.
A Physics degree helps prepare you to do almost anything. From the quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills of physics and also understanding of the fundamentals behind science and technology that are provided by this program offers a wide range of career choices.
Physics degree programs also give you much more flexibility than, e.g., engineering programs, to tailor your coursework and prepare you for your dream job.
